Impact-rated glass is heavier than standard glass, which means rollers and tracks are under more load and can wear differently. Locking systems on impact doors are also often multi-point systems requiring precise alignment.

Even impact-rated doors can shift or bind after high wind pressure. A quick post-storm check confirms the door still glides, locks, and seals as it should.

- Impact glass integrity, cracks that may not be immediately visible
- Frame and anchor points for storm-related stress damage
- Track and roller condition after wind-driven debris impact
- Whether the door still meets local wind-load and impact code
Repair vs. Replacement
Impact glass that has taken a hit but hasn't shattered can sometimes stay in service short-term, but we recommend replacement once the laminate layer is compromised, it's no longer providing full impact protection even if it looks intact. Frame damage is assessed separately from the glass itself.
